Cubs win 4-2 over the Reds in the second edition of MLB's Field of Dreams game
Cubs reliever Rowan Wick struck out Jose Barrero, forced Jake Fraley to ground out and struck out Matt Reynolds to seal the Cubs' 4-2 win over the Reds in the second edition of MLB's Field of Dreams game. There weren't any late-inning fireworks like in 2021 when the White Sox and Yankees clubbed multiple homers in the ninth inning. But the city of Chicago is unbeaten in the event.

Could Chuckie Robinson make his big-league debut?
Michael Papierski is in behind the plate for the Reds after David Bell pinch-hit for Austin Romine in the Reds' two-run seventh. Papierski is due up fourth in the bottom of the ninth. The Reds used their 27th roster spot for a catcher, Chuckie Robinson.
This is Robinson's first call-up and as a 27th man, he's likely to be returned to Triple-A after the game. Bell could pinch-hit for Papierski and if the game is tied, Robinson could make his big-league debut at the Field of Dreams without an at-bat — like Moonlight Graham.

The Reds now have a pair of Farmers in the game
Fittingly, it's Buck Farmer who is called in from the corn fields. The Reds now have a pair of Farmers in the game, with Kyle at third base. The two are not related, but grew up in the Atlanta area at the same time. Buck Farmer's first pitching coach was Kyle Farmer's dad, who pitched in college at Ole Miss.

Aristides Aquino records his eighth outfield assist of the season
You'd think people would realize not to run on Aristides Aquino at this point. He recorded his eighth outfield assist of the season (in just his 39th game) to end the fourth inning, throwing out the Cubs' P.J. Higgins at third after Higgins attempted to tag up on a fly out by Wilson Contreras.
