Rickwood Field is not only the oldest professional ballpark in the United States, it was home to the Birmingham Black Barons of the Negro League, according to the MLB.

Field of Dreams construction brings new youth tournaments
Construction on the iconic field began in late 2022, preventing a third MLB game at the stadium in 2023. The $80 million expansion includes nine youth baseball and softball fields, team dormitories and a boutique hotel, according to the Des Moines Register.
In 2024, the site was scheduled to host seven weekends of youth baseball tournaments and two weekends of youth softball tournaments.
